When my life hit rock bottom in 2012, I weighed nearly 300 pounds (at 5'2"). I decided to get gastric sleeve surgery to jump-start my journey to rediscovering the old me. In support, my best friend gave me personal training sessions with Eric and I started my training when I was about 265 pounds. It has been a year and a half of hard work, but I've lost 132 pounds so far, which I would never have been able to do without Eric. Many of my friends that had the same surgery stopped losing weight after about 6 months and many gained it back. I'm still losing after 18 months and I attribute that to two things I'm doing differently: logging my daily calorie intake and working with Eric. Eric is not only a personal trainer, he's a teacher. I don't like people telling me what to do and I certainly don't like people judging my every move - and Eric does none of those things...which is why it works. The strength and flexibility I gained in the interim gave me confidence going into the second surgery. I knew I would be both pain free and better able to engage in all the activities I enjoyed prior to my hip degeneration. I've been training with Eric for 5 and a half years as of September 2011. He has tailored the workouts to my changing needs, likes and abilities. He's also been able to adjust our session times around my busy and often changing schedule. Eric's personal training changed my feelings about exercise from negative to very positive. All of my life I avoided exercise -- I hated gym class in school and I never considered any fitness program as an adult. A couple of years ago my doctor strongly urged me to get fit due to my high blood pressure and other complications related to my "extra" weight.
